San Antonio River Rock Gabion Fence & Automatic Gates
Duncan’s Services completed this 250-foot, 6-foot-tall gabion fence project in San Antonio in April 2025. The project combined all-welded construction, river rock and automatic gates with LiftMaster LA400 operators. Our crew removed the old fence before building the replacement. The work took about one month.

How was the river-rock fence built?
This San Antonio fence uses river rock contained behind metal mesh, with dark posts and framing dividing the fence into individual sections. The welded construction and visible stone give the property boundary a different appearance from a wood privacy fence or open wrought iron fence.
The completed fence stands 6 feet tall and runs approximately 250 feet. The photographs show the river rock’s varied shapes and colors through the mesh.
What automatic gates were installed?
The project includes metal double driveway gates operated by LiftMaster LA400 operators. The gate panels have horizontal ribs, while the adjoining fence uses river-rock infill. The project photo shows a solar panel beside the entrance; the video below shows the gates in motion.
Did the project include old fence removal?
Yes. Duncan’s Services tore down the old fence before installing the new gabion fence and automatic gate system. The overall project took about one month and was completed in April 2025.
